It's something about this track that makes you love it! Kudos to Fabulous Brown Girl, Chrissette Michelle for holding her own and letting her beautiful voice shine through! She takes this song to the next level! Love her!
Check out the video and imagine your self "cruisin down the freeway, just you and your bay-bay" --lol
Even though a lot of trauma is happening conveniently around the release date of her album, which is out today by the way. It is obvious that Fantaisia Burrino has honestly been through a lot and this suicide mishap was not necessarily a stunt.
All that has happened to the young 26 year old from Charlotte,NC has come to a head. The industry is rarely ever your friend and unless you look like Alicia Keys, it might even be the middle school bully that won't let you eat your lunch in peace.
Here is a clip Fanny talking to Robin Roberts on Good Morning America. Fanny's calm and genuine tone makes me think that she is not doing this solely for whatever press she can get to promote her album. Hopefully she can share her story and inspire other women who are going through the same thing.
Yesterday Wale released a special spoken word/poem track called "Ambitious Girl". I don't care what anyone says, Wale wrote this piece for us Fabulous Brown Girls.
He is basically saying that he finds women who handle their business and have crazy drive sexy!
You Would Rather Chase Your Dreams Than Chase These Men...
Wale is definitely a favorite here at Fabulous Brown Girl and we do not see that changing anytime soon. His flow is fresh and his lyrics really talk about something. If you are not familiar with him... don't worry.. check out some of out favorite tracks from his first album. We can't wait until his mixtape drops next week.
Have our prayers answered? Is Fabulous Brown Girl, Lauryn Hill, really releasing new music? By the looks of it, she is.
After hearing on YouTube "Repercussions", I was immediately smitten by Lauryn all over again.
Not really sure if this song is newly recorded or just an unrelased track made during her recording prime, but when ever the track was made it just further increased our favor and excitement for her hopeful return.
Check out her new track! I have been playing this melodic track on REPEAT for a while now.
First off, I apologize for the lapse of posts. I am definitely sure you all can relate to a time when life starts to get real and everything comes at you at the same time. It is not a bad thing, but Life is starting to make the moves that I have been waiting for and I can barely keep up, so please forgive me if I do not post as frequently as I normally do. But don't worry! I am committed to this blog and can't stay away from you Fabulous Brown Girls for too long!!! You ladies are always on my mind!
Over the weekend, the video and release for the "WE ARE THE WORLD 25" was released. Even though critics are giving the remake mixed reviews. I found it to be refreshing to see more artists than I could keep up with on this song. It warmed my heart just hearing the song because it is one of my favorites, but seeing everyone from Jennifer Hudson, to PINK, and even Tony Bennett contribute was awesome!
If you didn't get a chance to see the video, please check it out below. I think the KING of POP would be PROUD!!
BONUS TREAT!!CLICK HERE to download Teedra Moses' mixtape. She is one of our favorite FABULOUS BORWN GIRLS. Her music and style is right up our alley. PLUS the mixtape is free. Put on your ipod and jam away.
Very recently, the world famous song for unity and aid, "We Are The World" was remade 25 years later to raise for the tragedy that occurred in Haiti over two weeks ago. I would be lying if I said this wasn't isn't extremely ironic that that the 25th anniversary is marked with the earthquake.
Even though it was missing some of the most popular celebrities like Beyonce', Lady Gaga, and a host of other widely popular celebs, I am still amazed and proud at how serious celebrities are taking what happened in Haiti. The philanthropy and the love they are showing is very inspiring.
Check out a few picture of some of the many celebrities giving the gift of their voice and recording the remake of that special song. I am really anticipating to hear the new version because the song still gives me chills whenever I hear it.

Until the new version is released, check out the original made in 1984. I bet you can't tell me this song doesn't do something to you! My father purchased the original record and I plan on purchasing the new version.
This is one of my new jams to groove to! I love the beat and the lyrics Letoya sings about! I mean I think we all have a past fellow who thought he was doing THE MOST and didn't recognize our sunshine (yes Common!!) until it was too late!!
So now anytime he sees you in all your glory and he has to make you feel bad or try to get back on your good side. Too bad for him we moved on to bigger, better and more FABULOUS things!
So Fabulous Brown Girls, who would you dedicate this to? Let us know and check out Letoya and Ludacris NEW video for REGRET!!!
