In Case You Didn't See It: Christmas at the White House with Oprah

Last night Oprah's prime time special Christmas at the White House aired where Oprah interviewed the president and First Lady to discuss how they are doing Christmas and his current over job as President.

First Lady Michelle looked ever so FABULOUS and chic in her holiday attire and their display of Black Love as a marreid couple is still tremendously inspiring. I love specials like these beacause it reaffirms the emotions of joy and happiness that they are really our PRESIDENT and FIRST LADY adn ti wasn't a dream but infact reality.

IF you did not get a chance to watch this great special FBG has the entire thing in 4 parts. Enjoy!

Coming Soon: Oprah Winfrey Network

For sometime now Oprah Winfrey has talked about starting her own network, which will conviently be known as OWN (short for the Oprah Winfrey Network)

After announcing her departure in 2011, this network is now becoming more and more anticpated by Oprah fans and inspirees everwhere.

CEO of the Oprah Winfrey Network, Christina Norman, says the network will be about motivating self-discovery which is something Oprah has always felt is very important.

Even though she will not bring her sindicated talk show over to the network, she will give other women such as Laura Berman, Laura Ling, Suze Orman, and of course her BFF Gayle King opportunites to host their own show.

Fabulous Brown Girl will totally be showing the OWN network love and can't wait for its launch/premiere!

Godmama Oprah Has Announced Her Talk Show Departure

Okay, BIG NEWS was announced yesterday about Oprah Winfrey deciding that her syndicated national talk show of over 23 years will be ending Septemeber 2011, 25 years after her show debut in 1986, making it the longest runnning talk show in the history of television.

Oprah Winfery is what Michael Jackson was to pop music and dancing!! She reigns supreme and has inspired so many people to pursue working in the media, owning their own businesses, and being moguls! She has been a staple on daytime television since I was just a tot! She doesn't even feel the need to be nominated for Daytime Emmy's anymore because she wants other people to have a shot! Now if that ain't a FABULOUS Brown Girl, I don't know what is!

Even though Fabulous Brown Girl knew this day was going to eventually come, we were secretly hoping the Oprah would continue doing her show from a nursing home if she had to with her walker still looking FLY!

Clearly, Oprah wants to focus on the next phase of her career and that is with the Oprah Winfery Network, where she will host a show and reruns of the sydincated talk show will air as well.

So who will be the new Queen of Talk when Oprah retires from her network talk show... Tyra, Wendy, Ellen... ?? I know, I know, we are just as sad as you are when we begin to fathom such a travesty happening, but we are definitely wishing Oprah the best!

Solange Has Good Hair!

Here at FBG Solange, is one of my favs!! Number one: She is from my hometown! Number two: She is a great mom to her son! Number three: Her personality and confidence rocks! She is quirky, talented, and beautiful. Number four: Her album is the best kept secret.. if you slept on her don't worry you still can go and pick up her album!

Here she is with Chris Rock on Oprah talking about why she decided to do the BIG CHOP. If you know anything about transistioning from permed to natural hair then you know that what Solange did with her hair is very normal and please don't think I am not going to be all up in the theatre to watch Mr. Rocks documentary!

Welcome Back Whitney Houston!

Whitney Houston, popular R&B vocalist, appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show for a two part interview where she revealed what was going on in her life during the seven years where she fell into drugs and abuse. Whitney was known as "The Voice" for much of the 80s and early 90s. Her career peaked when she released "The Bodyguard" and its accompanying soundtrack with the smash hit "I Will Always Love You". Soon after her peak of success, Whitney has now admitted that she got involved heavily with marijuana laced with cocaine and that her then husband, Bobby Brown, verbally and emotionally abused her. She even recalled a time when he spat in her face after an argument. Since she took the vows of marriage seriously, Whitney fought to keep her marriage with Bobby Brown together, but knew she wasn't happy. She knew the public was right in their opinion of her marriage , but she loved her husband so much and was determined to prove them wrong. She even said that Brown was her "drug". She continued the drugs until her mother came to her house for an intervention. Her mother wanted her daughter back and was not going to take NO for an answer.

Whitney Houston is just one example of many women who seem to have everything together, but still struggle with being more successful than their husband and fight to make their marriage work. Whitney, like many other women, fight so hard to fix or hold on to their marriage because of love, but when the other spouse is treating you so terribly, your spirit will find the stregnth to do better. She said she loves the Lord, her mother, her daughter, family, and other supporters for helping her get through it all...

Welcome Back Whitney Houston! Fabulous Brown Girl loves you!
